I'm so happy and full lol. Just left Philly and my bestie insisted on Steve's and he told me what to order to be authentic. Staff was great...... have cash cause I'm not sure if they accept cards or Apple Pay. Everyone was so nice and genuine especially for someone like me who is a noob..... non local. Even the other patrons were nice and just polite go figure. Traditional Philly but with provolone and onions mutton else. Then cheesy fries with cheese wi and a chocolate drink. I don't care for cheese wiz but with the fries it was very good. I only ate half of my sandwich and part of the fries. Skip Oats and age is please unless you just like being a tourist. Now the chocolate drink. I liked it.... Then didn't like it..... try it for the experience. It's kids like Pepsi with cocoa powder not horrible but not good lol.
Atmosphere: Casual, takeout style spot with some seats to eat Food: Excellent. One of my favorite cheesteakrs. Love that they don't chop the cheese (similar to Geno'). Everything was fantastixc Price: Good price for cheesesteak Service: N/A Parking: Small parking lot
Thanks to my friends at City of Philadelphia for recommending that I try Steve's while in town for work. Next to impossible to get a good steak where I live so I love going to great steak places when I'm in Philly. I got here well after lunch today so there was plenty of parking and seating. Even though I say that the place had a constant stream of people in and out. Plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating with an old school counter service vibe. The crew was personable and my order came up quickly. Steaks are ordered at the right window. Fries and drinks at the left. I ordered an American steak with onions and whizz fry with a drink. $20. Way more food than I could eat. The whizz was molten so I had to let it cool a bit. Steak had plenty of sliced ribeye with grilled onions and cheese. Loved it.
Best cheesesteak I've had in Philly, well worth the long Uber ride I had to take to get there. The place is a grab-and-go style, and is perfect for a late night craving.
I think this is my favorite of the Steve's locations for eat in. I love the lunch rush of hard working folks lining up to order, eating along the outside window and mostly eating outside at one of the tables when the weathers nicer. I usually park across the street where there are plenty of on street spots to be found. My favorite visit was sitting next to a couple of retired Italian gents who shared some good conversation and their homemade red vino with me while we ate our cheesesteaks. They proclaimed, "The wine, it makesa da shteak tasta betta!" .... they weren't kidding! The staff seems friendlier at this spot, but maybe that's just me. You'll also get the same quality and quantity cheesesteak as their other locations. Even though the inside is similar to the other locations, the patrons and staff make it seem more of a classic sandwich shop. Haven't had a bad visit yet, thanks guys!
Excellent cheesesteak in a more quiet area. It's greasy but not too greasy. It's fast here and they aren't too pricey. The bread here is good too.
This was my first time having a steak with "slab" meat. It was different from the usual chopped textured I'm used to, but it was still good. I went on a weekday, so there was no line or long wait. I like that they also have fries and other items. I was a bit confused because they say cash only but there was a card machine and tablet at the register, so not sure if that was a recent change.
